Traces of Old San Rafael

I love digging into the archives to learn about local history.

My monthly column of history articles covers people, places, and events in the history of San Rafael, a town known for its healthy climate north of San Francisco.

Topics range from a master sharpshooter and his shooting range to mosquito abatement and a Chinese mission.  All are now long gone, but  traces remain to remind us of the past.
